What is your refund policy?
Refunds will only be given during extenuating circumstances.
How old do I have to be to take Drivers Education?
The minimum age requirement for Drivers Education is 15 and 9 months. The reason for this is the program must be completed within two years from the start date. It is never to late however to start Drivers Education. We at Nichols Driving School offer training for those that need it no matter how old you may be.
When can I start driving?
A student must have a valid learner's permit and be sixteen (16) years of age before she/he may participate in motor vehicle on-road instruction.
What is this Junior Operator Law (JOL) I'm hearing about?
The Junior Operator Law was put into effect to try and help combat newly licensed teen fatalities due to poor driving decisions. There are many restrictions that go along with a teen acquiring there license as well as a whole list of increased penalties and violations. As we do cover this topic extensively during classroom time here is a list of links that explain those areas for questions you may have.
There are a number of transactions the Registry Of Motor Vehicles allows you to do online now. Including scheduling a time for your registry transactions like getting a permit. We at Nichols Driving School strive for convenience with our clients. If you are to busy in this hectic world we live in, no problem we will do it for you! How many hours of driving time do I need?
Eighteen (18) hours of instruction in a driving training motor vehicle including a minimum of twelve (12) hours of actual behind-the-wheel instruction and six (6) hours of observation while another student is taking behind-the-wheel instruction.
I lost my permit, it went through the wash, my sister ate it...... what do I do?
Relax the Registry Of Motor Vehicles is in the same building as Nichols Driving School. Just walk next door and apply for a duplicate permit, a fee does apply from the Registry.
How many hours of classroom time do I need?
A minimum of thirty (30) hours is required to educate and familiarizing students with Massachusetts motor vehicle laws and of safe and proper operation of a motor vehicle.
